They had no <a href=\"https:\/\/userpilot.com\/blog\/product-analytics-tools-guide\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">product analytics tool<\/a> in their tool stack, and the only way to find out was by asking.<\/p>\n<p>There were 2 problems with that:<\/p>\n<p>First, they could talk only to 1-2 of their biggest customers. While vocal, their insights weren\u2019t representative of the wider customer base &#8211; the \u2018silent majority.\u2019<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>We had a big silent majority that didn&#8217;t really get to share their insights or we didn&#8217;t know what they were doing in the product.<br \/>\n&#8211; <\/em>Isa Olsson, UX Researcher and Designer at Zoezi<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Second, customers aren\u2019t always able to describe objectively how they use the product. They may be able to provide <a href=\"https:\/\/userpilot.com\/blog\/qualitative-feedback\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">qualitative insights<\/a>, but there was no way to quantify their interactions with the product, which is essential for informed decision-making.<\/p>\n<p>Onto the next challenge:<\/p>\n<p>Zoezi used a <a href=\"https:\/\/userpilot.com\/blog\/help-center-examples\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">help center<\/a> solution built in-house to support their customers. The tool wasn\u2019t too user-friendly and was hard to maintain:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>The closest thing we had to Userpilot was the help center inside the system, which didn&#8217;t really work because it was all hard-coded and really horrible to maintain.<br \/>\n&#8211; <\/em>Isa Olsson, UX Researcher and Designer at Zoezi<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Finally, Zoezi users had no easy way to report issues from within the product. They had to leave the app and use email, which was inconvenient and led to poor user experience.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"29adk\">Solution: Leveraging Userpilot for better engagement and analytics<\/h2>\n<p>To tackle the challenges they faced, Zoezi looked into 4 products: Userpilot, ProductFruits, <a href=\"https:\/\/userpilot.com\/blog\/appcues-analytics\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Appcues<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/userpilot.com\/blog\/pendo-analytics-review\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Pendo<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Why did they pick Userpilot?<\/p>\n<p>Pendo was expensive, ProductFruits lacked analytics features, and Appcues didn\u2019t have a nice service representative.<\/p>\n<p>Userpilot offered the best functionality and for a <a href=\"https:\/\/userpilot.com\/pricing\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">good price<\/a> too. Isa also liked Userpilot\u2019s roadmap and found the support documentation and responsiveness of the <a href=\"https:\/\/userpilot.com\/blog\/customer-success-roles\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">customer success team <\/a>top-notch.<\/p>\n<p>Zoezi uses Userpilot mainly to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Monitor product usage from the <a href=\"https:\/\/userpilot.com\/blog\/userpilot-custom-analytics-dashboards\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">analytics dashboards<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Track page visits.<\/li>\n<li>Design <a href=\"https:\/\/userpilot.com\/blog\/onboarding-flow-best-practices\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">onboarding flows<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Deliver <a href=\"https:\/\/userpilot.com\/blog\/release-notes-best-practices\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">release notes <\/a>via modals (and track user engagement).<\/li>\n<li>Provide in-app support via the <a href=\"https:\/\/userpilot.com\/blog\/resource-center-editor-userpilot\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">resource center<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<blockquote><p><em>The engagement part in Userpilot has been the easiest for us to make a difference because then we can understand if our users understand better what they&#8217;re supposed to do. Now we can just look at the pages tab and understand that people don&#8217;t use this stuff, so let&#8217;s not focus on that.<br \/>\n&#8211; <\/em>Isa Olsson, UX Researcher and Designer at Zoezi<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Moreover, Userpilot has improved how Zoezi communicates with its customers inside the product. <a href=\"https:\/\/userpilot.com\/blog\/user-feedback\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">User feedback<\/a> has shown they appreciate being kept in the loop with the release notes.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>What we&#8217;ve noticed is that users appreciate the news. They like being informed. And so the release notes have been appreciated. We&#8217;ve interviewed some people to find out, like, what they find different now. And it&#8217;s not just the product.
