But when it comes to its annual conferences, it might become expensive and inaccessible for some people (unlike other events such as <a href=\"https:\/\/productdrive.userpilot.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Product Drive<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p data-block-id=\"e1rsf\">So let\u2019s dive into the whole MTP ecosystem to see how you can get the best out of it:<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"bohnq\" data-block-id=\"bohnq\"><strong>What is Mind the Product?<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p data-block-id=\"8f3al\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.mindtheproduct.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Mind the Product<\/a> (MTP) is the most active community for product people.<\/p>\n<p data-block-id=\"35q6s\">It started small in 2010 with a single meetup in a London pub. The idea was to bring product managers together to connect, share, learn, and collectively advance the field of <a href=\"https:\/\/userpilot.com\/blog\/what-is-product-management\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">product management<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p data-block-id=\"cu0fe\">This community grew up fast, and now it\u2019s a great example of how to sustain a successful product community. Now, more than just meetups, it has an entire ecosystem of content, providing articles, events, products, and communities to engage with.<\/p>\n<p data-block-id=\"e37lu\">Its most prevalent aspects include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Annual conferences: <\/strong>MTP hosts both <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mindtheproduct.com\/mtpcon\/london\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">#mtpcon<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.industryconference.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">INDUSTRY<\/a> in London and the US, respectively. They invite the most famous people in the product industry, such as Marty Cagan or Dan Olsen (funny note: even Dwight Schrute from The Office).<\/li>\n<li><strong>Local meetups: <\/strong>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mindtheproduct.com\/producttank\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">ProductTank meetups<\/a> are now a globally available event that you can attend in your closest city. It\u2019s now hosted in around 200+ cities throughout the world.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Resource hubs: <\/strong>MTP has articles, videos, podcasts, and a weekly newsletter on product management topics. The podcast also brings top product minds as guests for deep conversations.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Skill learning: <\/strong>MTP offers many free certifications in product management in collaboration with Pendo. Additionally, your company can hire the MTP team to train your employees in <a href=\"https:\/\/userpilot.com\/blog\/product-management-best-practices\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">product management best practices<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Slack community: <\/strong>There\u2019s a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mindtheproduct.com\/product-management-slack-community\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Slack community<\/a> where you can interact and network with other product professionals. However, the company itself doesn\u2019t seem to get very involved beyond sponsoring MTP\u2019s content and events.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"9i9cc\" data-block-id=\"9i9cc\"><strong>Mind the Product\u2019s annual conference<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p data-block-id=\"6m0gi\">The first MTP conference was in London back in 2012, with Marty Cagan as one of the speakers, gaining more and more traction over time. And although it was acquired by Pendo in 2022, the same team is still running the events (except co-founder James Mayes, who stepped back from the CEO seat).<\/p>\n<p data-block-id=\"2d5ep\">Today, MTP conferences are hosted in two places. One as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mindtheproduct.com\/mtpcon\/london\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">#mtpcon<\/a> in London during spring and the other as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.industryconference.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">INDUSTRY<\/a> in the US during Autumn. What\u2019s better, these talks are recorded and published for free on MTP\u2019s YouTube channel, meaning you can still catch up on sessions you missed and share your favorites with your team.<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"8ilkr\" data-block-id=\"8ilkr\"><strong>How much does Mind the Product cost?<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p data-block-id=\"au250\">Entrance for these conferences can <a href=\"https:\/\/web.cvent.com\/event\/731be4ce-5ef1-4f97-8218-c17c6e3d388f\/regProcessStep1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">cost between \u00a3849-\u00a31,649<\/a>, depending on how soon you buy it and the bundle you choose. There\u2019s also a forum for Product leaders for \u00a3699.<\/p>\n<p data-block-id=\"3vjug\">Whether it\u2019s worth the price or not depends on your budget and how much you value the in-person experience for networking. Many people also need to travel in order to attend, making it more expensive.<\/p>\n<p data-block-id=\"1en5r\">On the other hand, if your company can sponsor your ticket to the event, then there\u2019s no downside to attending. Also, remember that all the talks are published later on YouTube, which means you don\u2019t have to worry about missing out on content. The point of attending these conferences is mainly for networking or getting access to the workshops.<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"dgoof\" data-block-id=\"dgoof\"><strong>Is there a better alternative to Mind the Product?<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p data-block-id=\"femig\">Mind the Product\u2019s conferences are great. But as I mentioned, they can be expensive (especially if they require traveling).<\/p>\n<p data-block-id=\"eg35t\">Another excellent conference you can attend is the <a href=\"https:\/\/productdrive.userpilot.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Product Drive summit<\/a> organized by Userpilot.
