Yazan Sehwail‘s path to building Userpilot wasn’t conventional. Born and raised in Ramallah, he earned a full academic scholarship to Hamilton College, where he specialized in Mathematics, Computer Science, and Economics. But it was his early entrepreneurial experiences that shaped his vision.
After building and scaling his first successful company, InnerChip, to profitability over five years, Yazan discovered a persistent pain point across the industry.
Product teams were trapped in endless development cycles just to make simple user experience improvements. The vision was clear: democratize product growth by removing the technical barriers that slow teams down.
His background combines technical depth with product intuition, a rare combination that’s proven essential for building tools that actual product teams want to use.

Userpilot: From onboarding to growth intelligence platform
The journey that began with Yazan’s frustration has unfolded through distinct phases of our evolution. Each is built on the lessons learned from the previous chapter.
What started as solving one specific problem has now become a full product growth engine with powerful analytics features.
Userpilot originally only offered a no-code solution for tooltips and guided tours.
But as our customers began using these tools, we realized that creating experiences without understanding user behavior was only half the solution.
So we built comprehensive analytics directly into the platform, including the capabilities to collect feedback and run different types of reports like funnels, paths, cohorts, etc. These features help teams see exactly where users struggled and what drove conversions. This is for completing the feedback loop that makes real optimization possible.
From there, we expanded to include autocapture, mobile analytics, and session replays earlier this year. Each addition solved another piece of the growth puzzle, ultimately creating what we now call the complete growth loop: analyze behavior, take action, measure results, optimize continuously.
