Don't take our word for it
Best analytics tool I have ever worked with
"It is the most useful analytics tool I have ever seen in software industry. It has many good features like survey forms, onboarding tools, funnels, integrations etc. and also it is very easy to use as it is beginner friendly."
Userpilot helps us uncover growth patterns
"Userpilot helps us learn where to focus and understand what our users are doing. The most important thing is to track user behavior as they interact with our product, and link that back to upgrading from free to paid, and to retention, so that we can identify the patterns exhibited by our most valuable customers v. our least."
Gaining User Insights & Saving Thousands in Dev Work
"Analytics data has allowed me to understand user flows without spending a lot of time interviewing users—saving us around $2K thanks to in-app notifications. Without relying on developers, we've likely saved another $2K in dev work."
Common questions
How do I announce a new feature inside my product?
You build it with Lia, Userpilot's AI agent, right on top of your product. She drafts the announcement and the targeting with you, and you review. For most launches a banner is the best fit, since it stays visible without blocking anything. If the feature deserves more attention, use a modal or slideout. A tooltip or spotlight can point at the new button itself. Choose who sees it and when, then publish. It goes live in your product without a code release.
Can I publish an announcement without help from engineering?
Yes. Once Userpilot is installed, marketing, product and CS teams can build, target and publish announcements themselves in the no-code editor, and edit them later without a deploy. Engineering is needed only for the initial install.
Can I show announcements only to certain users, roles or plans?
Yes. You can target by user or company properties such as plan, role or signup date, and by behavior, such as people who have or haven't used a related feature. You can also build a reusable segment, or target by page. The role and plan need to exist as properties in Userpilot, so they have to be sent from your product or a connected tool. Segments can also be updated through the API if your own models change who qualifies.
How do I keep users from being overwhelmed by too many announcements?
There are three levers:
- Ordering sets which content shows first when several are eligible on the same page.
- Throttling caps how many flows a user sees per page or across all pages, within a session, minute, hour or day. You can exempt a critical announcement from the cap. It's available on Growth and Enterprise plans.
- Workflows let you plan the whole launch on one canvas. You can space announcements out with delays, branch on what users have already done, and coordinate in-app, mobile and email. A user who already adopted the feature doesn't get the follow-up nudge or email.
How do I measure adoption of a new feature?
Userpilot auto-captures clicks and interactions from install, and you label the ones that count as using the feature, without engineering. That feeds a feature engagement dashboard showing adoption rate, adoption trend, stickiness (DAU/WAU/MAU) and average usage frequency, which you can filter by segment. You can also ask Lia. She analyzes the data points behind a release, such as adoption velocity, drop-off and which segments are catching on or stalling, so you don't have to piece it together from dashboards.
Can I see what users do after they see an announcement?
Yes. Each flow reports how many unique users saw it, completed it and dismissed it, plus average time to complete. If you attach a goal such as "uses the new feature," you can see how many of the people who saw the announcement went on to do it. Results can be filtered by segment, company or date range, and multi-step flows show step-level drop-off. Announcement data also lives in the same place as your product analytics, so you can go further. Path reports show exactly where users went after the announcement, and session replay lets you watch what individual users actually did.
